Focussing on Steering the Video Industry into the Next Decade, the panellists will talk through the evolution of the video sector as it gears up to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. In particular, industry collaboration, short and mid-term strategies for driving revenues and the importance of meeting retailer and consumer needs will all feature in the discussion. The outlook for UHD BD in Europe will also be reviewed, including title release plans and promotional strategies.
Building on this theme, the afternoon’s programme will continue with presentations and informed discussion on the UHD sector, to include analysis of the outstanding success of the UHD BD format in the USA and future plans for driving UHD and HDR in Europe. Contributors to these sessions will include senior executives from the Blu-ray Disc Association, Fox, Samsung and Ampere Analysis.
The second part of the afternoon will be dedicated to looking behind the scenes at some of the key operational enablers that allow the industry to efficiently and cost effectively deliver content in today’s highly demanding market place. Reduced windows and the increasing number of delivery platforms are just two of the factors that are having a significant impact on the way that content is managed, stored, retrieved and distributed.
Marcus Arthur, President, UK & Eire BBC Worldwide has already been confirmed to deliver one of the morning keynotes, addressing the topic ‘Making The Unmissable Ownable’. Further leading, high profile speakers from across retail and Europe’s leading entertainment group will be revealed in the coming days.
Completing the line-up for this full day Summit will be TV personality Alex Zane, who will host a New Content Showcase, taking delegates on a tour of previously unseen TV and Movie titles that are scheduled to be released later this year and throughout 2017.
The Ultimate Entertainment Showcase will take place on Wednesday 7th September at Picturehouse Central, Nr Piccadilly Circus.
