Scandinavia’s leading video-on-demand service Film2home has grown over the years and now plans to expand further with the takeover of rival Headweb. Together they form Plejmo, a movie service that offers a dynamic pricing model, offline accessibility, ease of use and the largest movie collection in Sweden.
Headweb has won many awards, including Internet World’s “Best Entertainment Site”. The beta version of the new movie service Plejmo is available to everyone from today and the acquisition will not affect existing customers, although they will enjoy an even stronger movie service.
Plejmo CEO Ulrika Lindwall said, “The streaming market grows while physical DVD sales have stagnated. With the acquisition of Headweb and the launch of Plejmo we will offer the best online movie service in Sweden. We aim to offer the latest movies as soon as they are released digitally. In addition, there will be free movies and films priced from 3 SEK and upwards. Our dynamic pricing model will really challenge subscription services in streaming.” … MESA Europe only
