Post IBC Review & Focus on OTT Sports Content Workflows

London, 2nd October 2018 (From 2 to 5.30 p.m.)

Post IBC Review
MESA Europe has been hosting ‘post event’ briefings following some of the major international industry trade shows for a number of years and these continue to grow in popularity.

The Post IBC Review will again showcase some of the major announcements and news from Europe’s largest programme distribution technology event to include independent analysis of the key trends in the European marketplace.

AI, Cloud business models, production technology developments, display improvements and enhancements in asset management and play-out are all expected to feature

…And then came Sport
This year, for the first time, the Post IBC briefing has been extended, as a result of the surge in demand for OTT sports services and in response to the declared interests of many of our member companies, keen to focus on the unique nature and characteristics of this hugely important business segment.

Demand for high profile, live sporting events has never been stronger and with it comes the opportunity for more fan-based and ‘behind the scenes’ content, which is also garnering a very significant following throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

Meanwhile the reduced entry barriers and access to a wider OTT footprint is encouraging the launch of more niche sports channels, giving consumers access to TV coverage of pastimes that would not have received much, if any, air time less than a decade ago.

During this part of the programme contributors will share insights and use-case examples of the factors that are driving the growth outlined above and the systems and technologies that are emerging, or being refined, in order to help fuel this expansion. Topics to be addressed will include:

  • OTT Sport: Managing Change and Explosive Growth
  • Protecting Live Sports Content
  • Making Financial Sense- VoD vs Subscription
  • Archive Management and Access
  • Engaging and Retaining the Fan Base
  • Staying on Top of Content Rights Issues
  • The Unique Characteristics and Challenges of ‘Going Live’
  • Where will it all end up? – The Future of On-Screen Sport
